July 10, 2017: Islamist terrorists attack Hindu pilgrims in Kashmir

On July 10, 2017 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists killed seven pilgrims, including six women, and injured 19 others in the disputed India region of Jammu Kashmir.

KHANABAL, INDIA – Isn’t it odd that in so many terrorist attacks one group targets another over religion?

I hate being so repetitive in these pieces but in all honesty I cannot help it. While there are so many terrorist attacks to feature in a daily column of this nature – trust me, I have to choose usually from 30-40 from around the world over several decades! – there are still many underlying similarities.

The most striking similarity to me is the frequency with which a given group espouses an ideology that is tied to a particular religion and decides that another bunch of people who just so happen to adhere to a different faith deserve to die. In other words, my faith is better than yours and as a consequence I can (and in some cases must) kill you.

Hey Allah! How do you like what we are doing in YOUR name? (Photo: ISIS)

Today’s instance is a good example.

On this day in 2017

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists killed seven pilgrims, including six women, and injured 19 others in the disputed India region of Jammu Kashmir. The pilgrims were on their way to a cave in Amarnath where an ice formation is believed to represent the Hindu god Lord Shiva.

This incident should add to our determination to eliminate terrorism.

Similar groups of worshipers were targeted in the same area in 2000 and 2001. I am not sure what the LeT wankers had in mind but in the end this was just another sordid example of ‘my god is better than your god‘.
