It would seem to be a no-brainer that we should never talk to terrorists for fear of giving them legitimacy and prestige.  What, then, if negotiating with terrorists is the only way to prevent catastrophes such as mass famine.  Is this a case of choosing a ‘lesser evil’.  Borealis looks at this contentious issue, surmising that there is sometimes no good option at hand.
