May 22, 2018: Anarchists bomb ATM in Mexico

On May 22, 2018 an IED planted by a Mexican anarchist group exploded at an ATM in Oaxaca, causing little damage and no casualties.

OAXACA, MEXICO – Wouldn’t it be neat to have your name used for a terrorist group? Hmm…..

How long do we as humans have on this mortal coil? If we are lucky we live, to quote US President Abraham Lincoln, at least ‘four score and seven’ years, we will have many opportunities to live a long life and make our mark on others. What that mark is is yet to be seen.

And then what?

Once we die, will we be remembered? Oh, I am confident our families and friends will spare a thought for us, but what about society in general? Will there be any reason to bring up our names once we are no longer among the living?

What if a terrorist group elects to preserve your memory?

On this day in 2018

An improvised explosive device (IED) went off at an automated teller machine (ATM) in the Mexican city of Oaxaca, causing little damage and no casualties. The bomb was claimed by an anarchist group, Brigada de Accion Informal Bruno Filippi.

El dia de hoy hemos decidido atacar con artefactos explosivos una sucursal bancaria santander…en Oaxaca. (Today we decided to bomb a Santander ATM in Oaxaca)

Bruno Filippi Action Brigade statement
