May 16, 2009: Car bomber hits school bus in Pakistan

On May 16, 2009 at least nine people were killed and 33 hurt when a car bomb exploded while a school bus passed on a road in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN – I am getting tired of writing this but some terrorists are truly the embodiment of evil.

The word ‘evil‘ gets used a lot these days. Where it was once seen largely as a descriptor for the chief ‘Evil One’ – i.e. Satan, the Devil, Beelzebub, Angel of Darkness, Lucifer, Old Scratch…. it seems now that everyone applies it everywhere.

Heck, there is even a Dr. Evil (with a tip of the hat to Canadian actor Mike Meyers)!

Still, there are occasions on which there is no other word than evil to describe what some terrorist groups descend to. Case in point..

On this day in 2009

At least nine people were killed and 33 hurt when a car bomb exploded while a school bus passed on a road: the bus was carrying handicapped children. The Pakistani Taliban were suspected.

I frankly don’t care if the Taliban terrorists knew or did not know who was on the bus. It was a SCHOOL BUS for God’s sake! Maybe we should get Dr. Evil to pay them a visit.
